MINI fun deserves expert care. Quality MINI service and repair. We service all MINI models—handling everything from routine oil changes and brake service to timing belt replacement, clutch repairs, and engine diagnostics. Trust your MINI to a shop that understands what makes these vehicles exceptional.
MINI vehicles share BMW engineering for their engines and drivetrains. Our BMW-compatible knowledge applies directly to MINI Cooper, Countryman, and Clubman service.
MINI engines use BMW-compatible oil specifications. We stock LL-01 approved oil and the correct coolant and brake fluid for MINI systems.
Most MINI services — clutch work, cooling, brake service — are completed the same day you bring your car in.
MINI/BMW dealer rates are premium. We offer the same quality and diagnostic capability at significantly lower cost.
These are some of the MINI vehicles we work on most often at our South Salt Lake shop. We service all MINI models — if yours isn't listed, that just means we don't see it every day.

These are the most frequent MINI problems we diagnose and repair at our South Salt Lake shop. Every job starts with a thorough diagnosis so you know exactly what's going on before any work begins.
MINI Cooper S and JCW turbocharged engines share BMW's timing chain tensioner issue. Early-revision tensioners fail and cause engine damage. We replace with the updated revision.
MINI uses an electric water pump and electronically controlled thermostat that fail frequently. Combined replacement prevents repeat visits.
MINI Cooper S manual transmissions develop clutch judder from the dual-mass flywheel. We offer a single-mass flywheel conversion for smoother, longer-lasting clutch operation.
Utah's temperature swings, mountain roads, and high altitude put unique demands on your vehicle. Here's what we've learned from years of servicing MINIs in the Salt Lake Valley.
MINI Cooper S and JCW turbocharged engines need oil changes every 5,000 miles with BMW-approved LL-01 oil. The 10,000-mile interval BMW suggests is too long for turbo engines in Utah conditions.
MINI timing chain tensioners should be inspected at every service after 50,000 miles. The updated tensioner revision is identifiable by a different part number—we can check which revision you have.
MINI supercharged models (2002–2006 R53) need supercharger oil top-off every 30,000 miles. Running low on supercharger oil causes bearing failure.
MINI uses BMW mechanical components, so parts cost more than mainstream brands. However, our rates are 30–50% less than the MINI dealer. MINIs are compact and most repairs are straightforward for an experienced technician. We work on MINIs regularly.
2007–2016 MINI Cooper S models with the turbocharged engine (N14 and N18) share BMW's timing chain tensioner concern. If you hear a brief rattle on cold startup, the tensioner is failing. We can inspect and replace with the updated version before it causes engine damage.
MINI Cooper S uses a dual-mass flywheel that develops chatter and vibration over time. We recommend converting to a single-mass flywheel during clutch replacement. It costs slightly more than OEM replacement but lasts longer and eliminates the vibration permanently.
Our shop in South Salt Lake is centrally located in the valley — most customers are within 15 minutes. We service MINI drivers from throughout the greater Salt Lake area.
